This exhibition brings together three solo shows and one large-scale collaboration. Each contains an inherent conflict, though the nature of these conflicts varies greatly across the four rooms.
Laura Sanders’ Survivor Skills explores what it means to move innocently through the world while maintaining a heightened awareness of threat, even in the quiet of nature. Jimmy Baker’s Glancing, Gutted draws from the noise of media and conflict, layering fragmented imagery to reflect how power and division circulate around us. Sarah Fairchild’s The Gilded Wild reframes the natural world as a form of ornamentation, echoing childhood influences. Finally, Flux & Flow’s Spatula, a dance film, heroically enacts a childlike battle in response to the pandemic.
Opening reception takes place November 20, 2025 from 5-7 PM at Beeler Gallery.
